Angiogenesis
In this tutorial, a method for analyzing ramified structure, using CellPathfinder, for the analysis of the vascular endothelial cell angiogenesis function will be explained.
The assembly of the ramified structure by vascular endothelial cells is regarded as an indicator of an angiogenesis function. Angiogenesis is indispensable in the formation of cancer tissue; therefore the angiogenesis function is a target in cancer suppression.
Using a vascular endothelial cell image (below left), recognition will be conducted (right figure), and graphing will be performed using the lengths, junction count and branch count etc. of the network structures formed by cells.
