Yokogawa will be featuring its latest range of instrumentation, control and safety systems for the offshore oil and gas sectors at this year’s SPE Offshore Europe exhibition, to be held at the AECC Aberdeen from 5-8 September 2017. Yokogawa has a wealth of experience in every area of the oil and gas business, from offshore and onshore facilities to pipelines, terminals, and deep water operations. The company provides solutions that enhance safety, ensure accurate and reliable operation, and increase plant efficiency.
Systems products on display include release R6.04 of the company’s flagship CENTUM® VP integrated production control system. CENTUM VP solutions encompass all stages of the plant lifecycle - from design, engineering, installation, and start-up to full operation, and routine and major maintenance - including the migration and upgrade to next-level technology platforms based on user needs, market dynamics, and technology advancements.
Also new is ProSafe®-RS R4.03.20; an enhanced version of Yokogawa’s safety instrumented system (SIS). In response to the rising need for Fire and Gas Systems (FGS), this latest release includes features that make it easier to adopt and use this system in such applications.
Yokogawa will be featuring its latest release of STARDOM. The enhanced version supports Windows 10, and the STARDOM high-speed CPU module comes with a new function that enables Java applications to run on a STARDOM controller. In addition, an oil flow rate calculation function has been added to meet the needs of oil and gas well operations. This new function makes it possible to quantify the amount of produced water from an oil or gas well, which serves as a KPI for monitoring age-related degradation in performance and assists in efforts to improve recovery efficiency.
On the instrumentation side, Yokogawa is showcasing its range of digital field wireless pressure and temperature transmitters and interface systems featuring ISA100 Wireless communications. With this secure networking technology, processes that were previously too difficult or uneconomical to monitor can be implemented, thereby improving plant and personnel safety.
Another aid to the monitoring of pipelines and subsea installations is Yokogawa’s DTSX®3000 distributed temperature sensor. With a one-metre spatial resolution, this distributed temperature sensor can measure the temperature along fibre-optic cables up to 50 km in length. Applications include the monitoring of temperatures in unconventional oil and gas wells and the detection of leaks of high- or low-temperature liquids and gases from pipelines or tanks.
To complete the range of products and services, Yokogawa will also feature its Advanced Solution portfolio which helps customers achieve safe, reliable, and profitable plant operations.
