Process safety management (PSM) is a regulation from the US. Occupational Safety and Health and Administration (OSHA) applicable to all processes that engage in the production, movement, storage or use of any Highly Hazardous Chemicals as defined in OSHA (29 CFE 1910.119). The intent of the regulation is to reduce the severity and frequency of incidents resulting from the release of chemicals and other energy sources. OSHA's standard emphasizes s a comprehensive management program that integrates technologies, procedures, and management practices.
