Tokyo, Japan - October 8, 2024
On October 8, Yokogawa Electric Corporation employee Toshi Hasegawa was presented the IEC 1906 Award by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This is the second year in a row that a Yokogawa employee has won this award, which is given to persons who have made a major contribution to the IEC's development of standards in the electrical and electronic technology fields. In 2024, this award is being presented to 228 recipients from 25 countries, and of this total, 29 are from Japan.
As an expert in industrial-use wireless instruments field instrumentation, Mr. Hasegawa has been working on the IEC/TC 65 technical committee to develop industrial process measurement control standards. These include industrial wireless communications standards and wireless coexistence management standards for the stable use of wireless technology at manufacturing sites. This award comes in recognition of the contributions he has made over a period of many years through these standardization activities.
Yokogawa will continue to proactively participate in international standardization activities and thereby contribute to the development of industry.
