Pressure Monitoring

Introduction

With the rapid pace of drilling for Oil & Gas in North America, more and more companies are choosing to automate their wells after drilling and completion. Implementations with quality, reliable and accurate electronic transmitters provide greater visibility of well activity during the lifecycle of each well. Well mounted transmitters provide local process readings as well as transmission of process data for monitoring and control.

Two of the most common applications at the wellhead are tubing/flow line pressure and casing pressure. Detecting changes in pressure at the well provide greater awareness of well performance. These measurements provide operations with the ability to control the flow of gas from the well. They also provide indication of casing integrity. If these measurements exceed the design limits the well can then be choked or closed in. The transmission of these process variables also allow for the well to be controlled automatically when linked to an RTU.

Solution

Yokogawa is providing the field proven EJA and EJX on wellhead applications across North America. Global major and independent oil & gas operators alike are integrating the silicon resonant based pressure transmitter technology. Transmitters are available in Hart or Fieldbus platforms offering not only highly accurate and reliable measurement, but full access to remote configuration and diagnostics.
