Sounds exciting? The brainwaves technology to which the title of this post refers is based on the measurement of brainwaves through earphones. The device is so powerful that it can measure brainwaves even during movement with low noise. It doesn’t stop there; the device also measures blood pressure and heart rate. All this will be made possible by CyberneX.
From Electroencephalography to innovative Brainwave Measurement – CyberneX
Accurate measurement of brainwaves has been possible for decades, but this measurement works mainly through electroencephalography also called EEG. Through EEG, one can measure the summed ectopic activity of the brain by recording the voltage fluctuations on the surface of the head.
These voltage fluctuations can be classified into four brainwave types:
- Alpha waves (7-14 Hz): Alpha waves occur when one is in a relaxed and conscious state. It lies between the consciousness form of sleep and wakefulness.
- Beta waves (14-30 Hz): These waves occur when one is thinking, focused and wide awake.
- Theta waves (3-7 Hz): These waves occur during light sleep and during meditation.
- Delta waves (0.5-3 Hz): The delta waves occur during deep sleep and have very great importance for the immune system because here important hormones are released.
By using CyberneX, the recording of the four brain waves is possible.
But what is the Name of the Device that measures Brainwaves using Earphones and how does the Measurement work?
In September 2021, we started investing in a Japan-based startup called CyberneX Co. Ltd. The goal of this collaboration is to develop a platform for visualizing information about the mental state of individuals based on brainwave data.
What is special about measuring Brain Waves using CyberneX?
The word “Cybernex” combines artificial brain research with unknown X. The device can measure various neuronal activities of the including electrophile wells as biopotentials in the peripheral of the ear. The acquired biopotential data is processed in real-time and visualized as neuronal activity including brain information.
This makes it possible to understand the inner workings of the human being such as concentration, relaxation, sleepiness, fatigue, and stress. This data is the support for human behavior, which is evaluated as daily experience data and used for various purposes.
Brain Computer Interface (BCI)
The special feature of the measurement of brain waves by CyberneX is the supporting development of the Brain Computer Interface (BCI). The combination of the CyberneX and the development of the BCI devices are used to discover new possibilities and to use brain information to support application development.
Through this innovative implementation of the device, many diseases that could only be diagnosed through electroencephalography, now can be diagnosed through CyberneX. This enables the early treatment of diseases such as burnout, etc., which can be identified by CyberneX.
According to Motofumi Baba, CEO/CTO of CyberneX, this form of measurement would bring about “entirely new forms of communication” and nothing would stand in the way of a ” blooming society”.
