ValveNavi™ is a useful and effective utility program that helps users interactively set up, tune, and maintain YVP110 fieldbus positioners. This software runs under MS Windows and communicates with the YVP110 over a Fieldbus network.
ValveNavi™ is also available as application software for Plant Resource Manager (PRM)
Setup and Tuning Functions
All required parameter settings such as actuator type selection, auto-tuning selection, and zero/span adjustment can be done on screen. A Setup Wizard is available for first-time users who wish to be guided through the basic setup procedures one step at a time.
- Configuration
Parameters related to the setup of the YVP110 are shown and can be changed.
- Calibration
Tuning related parameters are shown and changes such as executing auto-tuning can be made.
- Trend Display
A graph charting such values as the position set-point and the feedback signal can be displayed, and this trend data can be used to modify the tuning settings.
- Diagnostics Functions
Diagnostic parameters such as valve operating status and valve characteristics are shown. It is easy to compare the original valve characteristics and that of current data. A user interface for the signature function is provided to measure, display, and save the characteristic data to relevant valves and positioners.
- File Management
Saving Configuration data can be readily saved and accessed at any time.
- Downloading Function
Configuration data can be douwnloaded directly to the device.
- Report Function
A configuration data list can be output in HTML format.

The signature function measures the I/O characteristics of valves and positioners as well as the step responses of valves during off-line control. As this function can measure more than 2,000 points, it is possible to accurately detect changes in valve I/O characteristics. With ValveNavi, it is easy to display graphs of valve I/O characteristics and to compare measurement data with previous data.
With the signature function, it is much easier to detect maintenance problems such as slack in gland packing, wear of springs and clogging of valves.
