CENTUM VP Overview Web-based Training

Course Description

This web-based training course is designed to familiarize the student with the features and operation of the CENTUM VP system; it provides self paced preliminary training.

Please heed the precaution that the WBT does not prepare you for hands-on operation of a running plant. The WBT prepares you for classroom and "On the Job" training to master the operations of a running plant.

CENTUM VP Virtual Operator Trainer

     Course # EL201

Course Description

The objective of the Virtual Operator Trainer (VOT) is to show the user the overall capabilities of the Centum VP system. Utilizing Cloud technology, you will run a virtual machine with a Centum VP training project on your desktop.

Downloadable course materials will guide you through the training process. Knowledge retention will be verified throughout through periodic quizzes.

Course progress will be monitored through our Learning Management Software, allowing supervisors to receive updates on course completion.

This training is not intended to replace the normal training environment. It is intended to help the student gain additional Centum VP product knowledge prior to instructor led training or completing OJT.

Duration

Students will be able to access the course for a cumulative 24 hours total. Course completion typically takes 12 – 18 hours.

Course Description

This course consists of lectures, demonstrations, laboratory exercises, and question and answer sessions designed to familiarize the student with the features and operation of the CS3000 system.

  • Identify and define the function of each system component
  • Use the Operator keyboard to select standard display panels, control process equipment, acknowledge and respond to alarm messages
  • Identify and interact with all the standard display panels

This course consists of lectures, demonstrations, laboratory exercises, and question and answer sessions designed to educate the student in the system configuration, HIS and FCS builders, regulatory and calculation functions, sequence control programs, graphics and advanced function blocks.

  • Define field control station (FCS) and operator station (HIS) in a project
  • Practice with HIS and FCS Configuration Builders
  • Employ Feedback Control Instruments using Regulatory and Calculation Functions
  • Design Sequence Control Programs using Sequence Tables and related components
  • Design Graphic Windows
  • Use the Report Package Builder

Intended Audience

All plant personnel whom are responsible for the configuration and/or maintenance of a CS 3000 system. This course is also the prerequisite for the Foundation Fieldbus Engineering course.
