The ADMAG AXF is the magnetic flow meter which has adopted the proven Dual Frequency Excitation. Moreover, the Enhanced Dual Frequency Excitation has been newly added to tackle more severe applications.
The AXF has user-friendly functions; such as an electrode adhesion level diagnosis function, infra-red switches which can be used for setting parameters without opening the case cover, ability to change the direction of electrical connection on the site.
Based on FOUNDATION™ fieldbus specifications, AXF Fieldbus models offer more flexible instrumentation through a higher level communication capability and propose the cost reduction by multi-drop wirings with less cables. FOUNDATION™ fieldbus is a registered trademark of Fieldbus FOUNDATION.

User-oriented Functionality
Fluid Adhesion Level Diagnosis
The amount of insulating material on the electrode is constantly monitored to determine when maintenance should be performed. An optional replaceable electrode is easy to remove and clean.
Flexible Electrical Connection Direction
The converter or the terminal box can be rotated in either direction to match the position of the electrical connections at the installation site.
Clear and Versatile Indications
The large, backlit full dot matrix LCD can display a variety of messages up to three lines in length. When an alarm condition occurs, a full description of the appropriate countermeasure is displayed.
Easy Setup
The most frequently used parameters are arranged in a group at the top of the display. Infrared switches enable the setting of parameters without opening the cover.
Operation Immediately after Installation
The AXF is shipped with the main parameters completely set and can go into operation as soon as installation and wiring are completed.

Improved Accuracy Specification
The standard accuracy is 0.35% of reading. Also available as an option is high accuracy calibration rated at 0.2% of reading.
Extra Small Size Flange Type
Flange types are now available in sizes as small as 2.5 mm.
Variety of Sanitary Connections
A wider variety of sanitary connections are now available, including Tri-Clamp, ISO, DIN and SMS.
Enhanced Performance
Enhanced Dual Frequency Excitation
The enhanced dual frequency excitation method is available as an option. This provides highly stable measurements involving high concentration slurries or low conductivity fluids.
Lower Minimum Conductivity
The newly designed AXF converter permits the measurement of fluids with conductivity as low as 1μS/cm depending on the nominal pipe size and fluid condition.
High-Speed Pulse Output
The maximum rate for high speed applications such as short-duration batch processes is now 10,000 pps (pulses per second).

AXFA11 Magnetic Flow Converter
The AXFA11 magnetic converter has been developed based on Yokogawa's decades long experience in magnetic flowmeters. The AXFA11 continues the tradition of high quality and reliability that has become synonymous with the Yokogawa name and in addition features an even higher level of performance and increased functionality.

Yokogawa's ceramic liner can offer the customer superior resistance to thermal shock and the failure that can occur due to liner cracking. This is due to Yokogawa's use of 99.9% pure Al2O3 for the liner.
To technology in iron & steel industry is continuously improved to obtain the best possible performance. The improved plant performance gives rise to the higher quality improvement and lower cost, and simultaneously environmental friendly plant operation.
The pulp and paper industry holds some of the most aggressive and challenging applications for magmeters. There are corrosive chemicals, high temperatures and pressures, and abrasive slurries. One application which is particularly difficult is the measurement of pulp stock from the digester to the blow tank. Yokogawa can provide one of the most reliable and accurate meters for this application.
Plant consists of numerous outfall meter locations. These remote locations need to be monitored and the flow signals brought into the DCS system. There is AC power available at each site but currently no way to bring back analog signals along the existing infrastructure. Each location will have a Yokogawa AXF Magnetic Flow meter installed. The (4) sites current listed below will need to be connected to the Suwanee River Chemical Plant. There will be more sites added in the future.
Yokogawa Electric Corporation promotes the standardization of FOUNDATION™ fieldbus as the communication foundation supporting Asset Excellence for VigilantPlant, which is an approach aimed at the advancement of plant instruments and equipment. With the recent dramatic advancement of fieldbus technologies, information processing technologies, and network speed, it has become possible to process various kinds of information inside the field sensors and transmit the results to the distributed control system (DCS) and host computer.
After having undergone several improvements, magnetic flow meters have become highly accurate and reliable and are widely used in the industrial instrument field today. Magnetic flow meters consist of a detector and a converter, with the principle of the detector adopting Faraday's electromagnetic induction law.
In 1988, Yokogawa launched the ADMAG series of magnetic flow meters with increased resistance to fluid noise and zero stability, employing dual frequency excitation which was developed based on its long-cultivated technology for flow measurement. Since then, the ADMAG family has augmented its application range with such models as explosion-proof and integral types, and a capacitance type.
Recent or pending air pollution legislation to reduce the amount of air pollutants is increasing worldwide. In the U.S., The Clean Air Act address numerous air quality problems. One of these problems is acid rain (much of which falls in Canada) caused by sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions from fossil-fueled power plants and other industrial and transportation sources.
