Universal Flow Meter by Yokogawa

The RAMC variable area flow meter (rotameter) by Yokogawa is a truly universal flow meter, ideal for measuring air and highly aggressive liquids in low and high-temperature applications. The RAMC features a float blockage detection system, all mechanical design, and easily replaceable components, making it easy to maintain while delivering high reliability and performance.

All Mechanical Design
The RAMC has a simple, robust design with three common components, making it ideal for low and high temperature applications, as well as making it highly reliable and reducing maintenance costs.

Field Replaceable Components
Many components of the RAMC are replaceable, including the float, scale, eprom (for eletronic transmitters), limit switches, and housing.

Float Damping System (for Gas Applications)
The float damping system is used in gas applications to avoid bouncing and putting a lot of wear on the float itself. The system is retrofittable and exchangeable at any time without requiring the operator to replace the float, and it can withstand a pressure maximum of up to 40 bar absolute. With this damping system, no recalibration is necessary after installation of the damping, and it is available to add on to old Yokogawa rotameters.

Float Blockage Indication System
This function is used for the electronic transmitter and detects when fluctuations remain under the preset level, activating an alarm.

Indicator Features & Options

  • Optional Electronic transmitter with HART protocol, various power supplies and signal outputs for 4-20ma and HART 5 and 7
  • Indicator is available in stainless steel and aluminum
  • Adjustable Limit Switches (optional), achieves SIL2 rating
  • Broad range of hazardous area approvals (ATEX, IECEx, FM, etc.)

Most solar cells in use today use silicon as the semiconductor that enables the photoelectric effect within the solar cell. Overview:

The Variable Area Flowmeter is one of the oldest and mature principles in flow measurement with its simple design: a float rises inside a conically shaped glass tube as the flow increases and its position on a scale can be read off as the flow rate.In the 1990s, Yokogawa strengthened its focus on flowmeters through cooperation with and the eventual acquisition of the German flowmeter manufacturer ROTA. In so doing Yokogawa gained access to 100 years of flowmeter expertise and completed its flowmeter portfolio by adding the Rotameter (variable area) and Rotamass (Coriolis) product lines.
