The DAQStation R4 or DXAdvanced - data acquisition and visualization system has four primary data file types. DAD (Display) files are digital representations of paper chart recordings with min/max values stored for each sample (similar to a pen dragging up and down on a paper chart). DAE (Event) files are instantaneous samples at a given interval where only one values is recorded per sample period (no min/max like Display Files). DAM are manual sample files (text based files with instantaneous values). DAR are report files (text based files with hourly, weekly, and monthly values). DAD and DAE files require DAQStandard Data Viewer, DAQExplorer, DAQManager, PrintWave, or ReportWave in order to be viewed (they are binary encrypted file types).
