The AQ8603 Optical Strain Analyzer is a dedicated analyzer using special brillouin backscattering detection technology (by NIPPON TELEGRAGH AND TELEPHONE CORPORATION). The AQ8603 is the latest generation in the legacy of Ando optical fiber strain measurement instruments. A complete new design for the AQ8603 allows very high strain measurement accuracy (±0.003%) and excellent repeatability (< 0.02%). Also the distance resolution in strain measurement has been greatly improved. Powered by a much faster CPU, a large-capacity built-in hard disk, and a very reliable Windows NT environment, the newly designed software interface is much faster and intuitive. Strain data can be saved in different formats and can be converted to ASCII. Fast data downloads can be achieved via optional Ethernet port. In addition, the AQ8603 can be controlled via GPIB commands, allowing customers to integrate the AQ8603 into their test systems. As a unique instrument for strain mapping measurement, the AQ8603 can be used for optical fiber strain detection and strain monitoring in various applications at different industry sectors, such as telecommunication, civil engineering, oil and mining and the, naval & aerospace industries as well as for military applications.
