How to wire a ZR22 to a ZR402G, with AC1 Autocal Panel

The wiring between the ZR402 Detector, the ZR22 Sensor, and the AC1 Autocal Panel is shown below.

The Wiring between the ZR402G and the ZR22G must be installed in 2 separate conduits, one for the signal cable, and the other for the heater cable. This is required to ensure that the millivolt signal levels on the signal cables do not pick up noise from the heater, which is turning on and off frequently.

The cables between the ZR402 and the ZR22 should be as follows:

Low Temperature Installations – where the wiring and detector head are below 80°C:

Signal Cable – PVC Insulation rated for 80°C or 175°F – 6-wire shielded #16 AWG minimum
Heater Cable – PVC Insulation rated for 80°C or 175°F – 2-wire shielded #14AWG minimum

Connect the shields to the FG terminals on the ZR402G only.

High Temperature Installations – Use the low temperature installation cable to reach a junction box where the temperature remains below 80°C. From there to the detector use the same cables as above but with a temperature rating of 200°C or 390°F. Yokogawa does sell high temperature cables. Contact your local Yokogawa Sales Representative for a quotation.

The wiring between the ZR402G and the AC1 Autocal Panel should be the same as for the Signal Cable. See above.
