Adding communications to the YS1500/YS1700 controllers

I purchased a YS1500/YS1700 without communications and now realize I need serial and/or Ethernet capabilities.  Is this possible?

It is not possible to add the Ethernet (/A34) option to the YS1500/YS1700 controllers.  However it is possible to add RS-485 (/A31) or DCS-LCS (/A32) communications.  The controller has to be returned to Yokogawa for this retrofit.
